Wi-Fi no longer necessary to use the robot
TOKYO (Jan. 12, 2017) – Yukai Engineering Inc. is expected to release a SIM card model of its family communication robot, BOCCO, so that it can be used in homes that do not have Wi-Fi connections. The new model can be connected to the Internet as long as cellular signal for a contracted carrier is available.
Yukai Engineering unveiled the new model at CEATEC JAPAN 2016 in October 2016 and also showcased it at CES 2017 in Las Vegas in January.
