A premier smart home under construction as part of the Japanese government’s initiative will feature BOCCO, YUKAI’s family communication robot, as its “Voice Control Assistant.”
Daiwa House Industry Co. is constructing the model home in Tsukuba City, located about an hour northeast of Tokyo, for Mitsubishi Research Institute, Inc. Mitsubishi has been selected by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry for the project to take advantage of IoT to improve social infrastructure. BOCCO will allow the smart home residents to talk to the robot to control appliances and various other devices.
