Yukai Engineering to Showcase Tail-Wagging Cushion Petit Qoobo and More at Viva Technology 2021

2021/6/9 News

At Viva Technology 2021, to be held in Paris at Expo Porte de Versailles, and online from June 16 through June 19, Yukai Engineering Inc. will showcase Petit Qoobo, a robotic pillow that wags in response to the user’s touch and its surrounding soundscape.

Yukai Engineering will also demonstrate BOCCO emo, a family communication robot with advanced personalization and emotional features, and the create-a-critter robot kit, part of the kurikit educational robotics series.

About Petit Qoobo

Petit Qoobo is a new companion of Qoobo, Yukai Engineering’s robotic pillow that wags its tail in response to one’s touch. Petit Qoobo, which is one size smaller than Qoobo, reacts not only to the user’s touch but also to the surrounding natural soundscape – be it the sound of clapping or one’s voice. In addition, when cuddling Petit Qoobo, the user will be able to hear its “heartbeat.” We hope that this robot will provide users with comfort and enrich their life.

About BOCCO emo

BOCCO emo is a communication robot that keeps families connected. Even with the increasing use of social media and messaging apps, many do not maintain communication with their family. The use of BOCCO emo and the designated BOCCO emo app increases conversation and strengthens the bond between family members.
The BOCCO emo app is a family bulletin board that allows the user to check on their family and sensor responses. When the user talks to BOCCO, it is sent as a voice message. They can also send a text or voice message through their smartphone. Family members will be able to communicate easily even with children, parents, and grandparents, who are unable to operate smartphones.

About create-a-critter robot kit

The create-a-critter robot kit makes it possible to create robots resembling critters using everyday materials such as cable ties. The kit allows for great use of the imagination to create a wide variety of robots from the same set of materials.
The create-a-critter robot kit, part of the “kurikit” educational robotics series, is the official NHK 2020 Shougakusei RoboCon Entry Kit.
