Yukai Wins TSUBASA Alliance Finnovation Challenge Award

Financial services to be offered by using Yukai’s family communication robot, BOCCO

TOKYO (March 3, 2019) – YUKAI Engineering Inc., a Tokyo-based robotics startup known for creating robots that bring joy to life, has announced it has won the Challenge Award in TSUBASA Alliance Finnovation Challenge 2018-2019.

The TSUBASA Alliance is regional banks’ collaborative framework through which to promote sustainable regional economic growth as well as banking system improvements. Organized by Samurai Incubate Inc. and T&I Innovation Center, both of Tokyo, as well as nine regional banks participating in TSUBASA Alliance, the Finnovation Challenge program seeks innovative ideas for achieving the alliance’s goal.

Yukai Engineering was recognized for its idea to provide banking services and regional information to seniors by using the company’s family communication robot, BOCCO, as the interface. The project is designed to leverage BOCCO’s ability to keep families in touch, particularly busy professionals in urban areas and their aging parents residing elsewhere. The project is slated to undergo a proof of concept in April and May for a market release before the end of the year.

“We are thrilled to be recognized in the TSUBASA Alliance Finnovation Challenge,” Yukai Engineering CEO Shunsuke Aoki said. “Financial management is an important issue for seniors. We believe BOCCO can help family members work together to keep their loved ones stay on top of important financial information.”
