necomimi is a totally new communication tool which uses a sensor to measure your brainwaves.
After gaining popularity on the internet through websites like YouTube, it went on sale in April 2012.
If you put necomimi on your head, it reads your brainwaves and expresses your emotions through ear movements.
When your level of concentration is high, the ears stick straight up, and when you are relaxed, they slowly flop down.
When you are relaxed with increasing levels of concentration, also known as “the zone”, the ears begin twitching.
Planning and commercialisation for necomimi was carried out by neurowear, a project team which aims to create “communication which feels a little bit futuristic.”
At Yukai Engineering, we have been involved with Necomimi from creating the prototype, to supporting commercialisation.
