YUKAI’s Tail-Wagging Pillow, Qoobo, Selected among 2018 Good Design Best 100

2018/10/3 News

TOKYO (Oct. 3, 2018) — YUKAI Engineering Inc., a Tokyo-based robotic startup, has announced that its tail-wagging robotic pillow, Qoobo, has been selected among 2018 Good Design Best 100. Organized by The Japan Institute of Design Promotion, the annual award program has been an authoritative name in the field of design. The Best 100 honor is given to those that have received “especially high evaluations from juries.”

Qoobo, which is designed to provide a sense of comfort to users through the realistic tail movements, was recognized for “the originality of the product that sets it apart from other pet robots.” Jurors commented that the use of the tail as the only method of communications taps into the user’s imagination and creates a sense of a pet’s presence.
